8 Elements for Beautiful Graphics

All branding packages come with brand guidelines for you to use for future graphics and designs, however it is really important that you consider the following 8 points when you are creating assets such as social posts:

  1. Colour - My text and important elements are legible and easy on the eyes. My viewers don’t have to strain to focus on what’s important.

  2. Typography - My font choices set the tone for my subject matter, are easy tor read and I’ve used good tracking.

  3. Alignment - I’ve made clear decisions about the alignment of elements in my design. All text boxes are aligned the same way, and I have centred everything that should be.

  4. Hierarchy - There’s a clear hierarchy to my graphic, highlighting what’s most important for my viewers to look at.

  5. Proportion - All elements and text are correctly proportioned. I haven’t stretched or incorrectly distorted elements.

  6. Spacing - Everything is appropriately spaced. I’ve created enough 'white space’ around elements to make them stand out or easy to read.

  7. Repetition - I’ve tied together individual elements to prevent them from seeming less ‘random’ and more purposeful.

  8. Simplicity - I kept things simple, and din’t go overboard with the use of effects like gradients, strokes or drop shadows.
